1. Submission of application form for admission to B.Ed. Programme will be made through on-line
mode. On-line application form will be available on and from 25.05.2017 to 07.06.2017 on the
University website (www.buruniv.ac.in)
2. Mode of payment of application fees (Rs. 300/- + transaction charge) will be through Credit Card,
Debit Card, Net Banking and Allahabad Bank e-challan. Allahabad Bank e-challan can be
generated after submission of on-line form. Candidates are advised to take the print out of the e-
challan on the basis of which payment can be made at any branch of Allahabad Bank.
Last date of payment of application fee through e-challan is 09.06.2017.
3. On-line submission of application form by a candidate does not automatically ensure his/her
admission to the programme.
4. For Deputed candidates only : As per Govt. order no. 264 - Edn(CS)/10M-20/2015, dated
23.03.2017, in self-financing B.Ed. colleges, 20% seats are to be reserved for untrained in service/
deputed teachers of classes V-XII. If the seats, reserved for deputed teachers, remain vacant, they
may be de-reserved and offered to the fresh candidates,
5. Eligibility : Candidates (both Fresh & Deputed) with at least 50% marks either in the Bachelor's
Degree and/or in the Master's Degree in Science/Social Science/Humanity/Commerce, or
Bachelor's in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with
55% marks, or any other qualification equivalent thereto, be eligible for application. There shall be
relaxation of 5% marks in favour of SC, ST and PwD (Persons with disabilities) categories.
N. B. : 50% or 45% marks (as the case may be) in Bachelor's degree with Hons. may be
determined either on the basis of Hons. marks only or on the basis of Hons. marks and marks of
the elective subjects taken together (excluding ENVS & Languages)
6. Age Limit : Age of the Fresh Candidates as on 30th June, 2017 shall not exceed 38 years and
there shall be relaxation of 5 years in favour of PWD category candidates.
7. Reservation : In each college 22% & 6% of total seats shall be kept reserved for SC & ST
candidates (both Fresh & Deputed) respectively and PwD candidates will enjoy a 3% reservation
in each of the categories, i.e. in SC, ST and in the Unreserved or General category.
8. As per Govt. Order no. 264 - Edn(CS)/10M-20/2015, dated 23.03.2017, ratio for home
University students and other University students shall be 80:20.
9. Course Fees : Total fee for pursuing this Course in the Self-financed Colleges is Rs.
60,000/- (including Uni. Exam. Fee Rs. 1000 for 1st & 2nd semesters) per annum both for
Deputed & Fresh Candidates of which Rs. 30000/- will be paid at the time of
admission and the rest (i.e. Rs. 3 0 000/-) will be paid in six (6) equal installments
starting from the month of September every year. Note that total course fee for 2- years is
Rs. 1,20,000/- per student.
Candidates are advised to take print out of the Information Sheet (appended below)
and read the instructions carefully before submission of on-line application form.

be allowed to pursue this course simultaneously.

subject(s) as in (10) before on-line submission of the application form.
4. For Deputed candidates only : As per Govt. order no. 264 - Edn(CS)/10M-20/2015, dated

6. As per instructions of UGC, the eligible SC/ST, OBC, PwD Students etc. should submit their
scholarship form for the academic year by February, for processing scholarship to SC/ST, OBC,
PwD etc. each year.

10. Availability of Method Subjects :
a) Beng., Eng., Sans., Hindi., Geo., Hist., Pol. Sc./Socio., Phil., Edn., Eco., Commerce, Music, Life
Science [Zoo., Bot., Physio., (Bio-tech.,Nutri.,Micro-bio.,Env.Sc.)], Physical Science. (Physics,
Chemistry, Bio-Chemistry, Electronics), Math./Stat./Comp. Application/Comp. Sc./Engineering or
Technology.
b) Availability of method subjects in the Self-financed B.Ed. Colleges may be changed at any stage
during the process of admission to the Programme.
c) Bio-chemistry & Electronics shall be treated as subjects in the Physical Science Group and in this
case candidates shall have to take Physical Science as the method.
d) Bio-technology, Nutrition, Microbiology & Env.Sc. shall be treated as subjects in the Life Science
Group and in this case candidates shall have to take Life Science as the method.
e) Stat./Comp. Application/Comp. Sc./ Engineering or Technology shall be treated as subjects in
Mathematics and in this case candidates shall have to take Mathematics as the method.
f) Students of Sociology shall be eligible to apply and in this case they shall have to take method
subject from their elective subjects.
g) Fresh applicants, having Hons./PG. in Santali/Arabic/Urdu shall be eligible to apply and shall get
admission to the programme. However they will have to take the method subject from their
Elective Subjects.
h) Deputed candidates, having Hons./ P.G. in Santali/ Urdu/ Arabic /Agriculture/ Agronomy/ Home
Science/ Home Management & Home Science shall be eligible to get admission in B.Ed.
programme. However they will have to take the method subject from their Elective subjects.
11) Candidates (both Fresh & Deputed), who are seeking reservation against SC/ST category,
must have to produce original caste certificate at the time of counselling and submit self attested
photo copy of the same at the time of admission. The Certificate must be obtained from the
competent authority to authenticate their claim. Relevant certificate must conform to THE W.B.
GOVT. MEMO NO.1813-BCW/MR-94/11 dated Kolkata, 20th June, 2011.
The certificate must be obtained from one of the authorities listed below :
i) Deputy Director, Backward Classes Welfare, West Bengal and Commissioner, Backward
Classes Welfare, West Bengal in case of candidates claiming to be Scheduled Cast or
Scheduled Tribe residing in any part of West Bengal.
ii) Deputy Commissioner of Land Revenue, Kolkata, Collector of Stamp Revenue, Kolkata,
Metropolitan Magistrate, Kolkata, Addl. Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Kolkata, Chief
Metropolitan Magistrate, Kolkata, 1st Class Stipendiary Magistrate, Executive Magistrate, Sub-
Divisional Magistrate, Sub-Divisional Officer, Deputy Collector, Addl. District Magistrate,
Collector and District Magistrate with their respective jurisdictions in case of candidates
claiming to be Scheduled Cast or Scheduled Tribe and ordinarily residing within such
jurisdictions.
12. For PwD Candidates only : Candidates (both Fresh & Deputed), who are seeking reservation
against PwD category, must appear personally with a self attested photo copy of the Certificate
obtained from the competent authority to authenticate their claim and the certificate must be
obtained from the authority not below the rank of a Superintendent of Sub-Divisional Hospital.
In the certificate, the extent of Physical disability must not be less than 40%. However such
candidates must appear personally with all relevant medical reports as well as the certificate in
original before the Medical Board, constituted for this purpose, as per the following schedule for
determining their eligibility for admission under PWD category :

13. Selection Procedure :
a) For Deputed Candidates , Provisional Rank list [mentioning category and category wise rank (i.e.
SC, ST & PWD) ]shall be prepared on the basis of their approved length of service. In case of same
length of service of two or more candidates, the 2nd and 3rd criteria shall be Academic Score and
Date of Birth respectively.
