Rules & Regulations for B.Ed. Admission
- Eligibility:
- Candidates should be Graduate in a school subject from a recognized university.
- Candidates with at least 50% marks either in the Bachelor's Degree/or in the Master's Degree in Sciences/Social Sciences/ Humanities/Languages.
- Bachelor's in Engineering or Technology/ B.C.A. / M.C.A. with Science and/or Mathematics, with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are also eligible for admission.
- Fresh candidates should have at least fifty percent marks either in Bachelor's degree /or in the Master's degree in the school subject. For 'Master's Degree', courses of two years duration will be considered for scoring.
- In case of fresh Honours graduate candidates, the marks obtained in Honours subjects (school subject) will be considered.
- In case of General Graduates, the total marks obtained in general subjects will be considered.
- For fresh candidates, merit list will be prepared separately for each method subject based on scoring.
- Age limit for Freshers is 37 years as on 01.07.2017. There is no age limit for Deputed teachers.
- Reservation of seats for SC/ST/PWD (Minimum disability 40%) candidates will be as per Govt. Rules. Relaxation of minimum qualifying marks will be as per Govt, rules.
- Out of total seats in the fresh category, 80%are meant for the students of the Kalyani University and 20% for the students other than Kalyani University students. Students of Kalyani University means those who possess current Registration Certificate of the Kalyani University and have not migrated from this University.
- Reservation of seats for the PWD: 3% of seats are provided vertically or as per Govt. rule for persons with disability having minimum degree of disability to the extent of 40% provided that their physical disability does not come in the way of pursuing the course. PWD are required to submit a certificate from a Civil Surgeon of a Govt. Hospital indicating the extent of visual/physical disability and also the extent to which the disability hampers the candidate in pursuing her/his studies at the time of admission. The candidates under this category may have to undergo a fresh medical examination, if so prescribed by the University, before being admitted.

- Admission procedure for B.Ed Course (Fresh):
Admission will be on the basis of scores against marks obtained in qualifying examinations and as per norms of University. Scores against marks for different level of examinations will be as follows:

- Deputed Teachers (as per NCTE norms) from recognized Secondary & Higher Secondary School of West Bengal are eligible to apply.
- For deputed candidates, merit list will be prepared on the basis of length of service.
- Seats will be distributed among freshers if deputed seats are lying vacant.
- Fresher applicants born after 30.06.1980 are eligible to apply. There is no age limit for Deputed teachers.

For Deputed Candidates
Applicants deputed by School must submit an attested copy of M.C. resolution recording the approval of Service in regard to his/her service at the time of counseling. Following additional documents are required to be submitted positively on the day of joining the Institution :
- Release order from the Headmaster / Headmistress.
- Attested copy of M.C. resolution with regards to his/her deputation.
- Certificate from Competent Authority whether the candidate teaches in Class XI or above.
- Three copies of passport size photographs of the applicant.
- Deputation form duly filled in (available from the Institution after admission)
- A certificate with the following information is to be submitted from the Secretary or Headmaster/Headmistress (where he/she is serving) and counter signed by the D.I. of Schools of the District concerned:
- Certified that the School is in receipt of aid on full/ deficit/ lumpsum grant basis or that school in unaided or salary deficit scheme one.
- Certified that she/he is duly approved teacher.
- Certified that she/he is first /school candidate being deputed by the school for training in 2017-19.
- Last pay drawn on 01/07/2017 is Rs................(Rupees ....................only)
- N.B.:-No increment of pay will be given from the Institution. Deputed candidates are directed to report to the Institution immediately after the admission along with his /her fee book for deputation.
Payment of deputation allowance and stipend will be made on receipt of grant from the Competent Authority. The University will in no case be liable for the delay in payment of deputation allowance and stipend.

Candidate pursuing any other course in the University of Kalyani or any other University during 2017-18 academic session are not eligible for admission to the B. Ed. course for the session 2017-18.

Rules & Regulations for M.Ed. Admission
- Applicants should have at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade in Masters Degree in any school subject preceded by Honours Degree and at least 55% in B.Ed. or any equivalent degree from any Institution recognized by the University or NCTE.
- However, in deputed category only untrained teachers from and Govt./Govt.-aided B.Ed. colleges will be considered. Private college teachers are not eligible in deputed category.
- Following the memorandum (no. 301-Edn (CS)/10-M-20/2015 dated 14th March, 2016) for M.Ed. course the ratio for Home University students and other University students shall be 80:20 and 50% seats will be reserved for in-service deputed college teachers. ‘Students of Kalyani University’ means those who possess current Registration Certificate of the Kalyani University and have not migrated from this University.
- Total number of seats: 50 (25 seats for freshers & 25 seats for deputed candidates. Seats will be distributed among the freshers if deputed seats are lying vacant.)
- Merit list will be prepared based on both Career Marking and Entrance Test marks for freshers candidates & for deputed candidates length of service will be considered.
- a. Career Marking:
- In Career marking five components (i.e. aggregate marks obtained in 10th, 12th, Graduation (Hons), Post Graduation & B.Ed. will be proportionately evaluated in 50 marks by distributing 10 marks for each. Marks distribution in qualifying Examination:

- b. Entrance Test:
- For fresher candidates Entrance Test is compulsory for both Home and Other category. Total marks obtained by the applicant in the entrance test will be added to the marks obtained in academic score. Based on the sum of total marks obtained final merit list shall be prepared keeping in view the reservation norms of the Government.
